Snake jewellery continues to appeal to me. I think it is all in the loops. Here are a few lovely snakes. The one at the top of the post is a very large early Victorian snake brooch from France. It is gold filled and is set with turquoise eyes. It is a very striking piece.
Below is a sweet little vintage sterling silver snake ring set with marcasites. The snake body coils around in a loop to form the top of the ring with the head coming through the loop. The eyes are set with different coloured gemstones. The orange eye is a garnet while the pink eye is a tourmaline. It dates from circa 1920.

The ring below is vintage and was made in Greece. It has two snake heads with engraving at each end of the ring while the middle of the ring consists of snake loops. The coils of each snake near the head have been set with turquoise cabochons. The ring sits beautifully along the finger.

The snake bangle below is one I sold some years ago and I have always regretted doing so as I haven’t found another one. It is Victorian, 18ct, and wraps around the wrist. It has 12 turquoise beads pavé set into its head and red (probably garnets, but not tested) eyes. The snake’s head has an etched design while the rest of the bangle is plain gold. There are four hinges.
