I appeared to have collected a number of small pieces of jewellery, most of which can be used as charms or small pendants. I was recently playing with organising them and thought I should show some of them off.

Of the four pieces in the photo at the top of the post, the one that stands out the most for me is the heart shape containing the anchor and cross. These three symbols represent the Christian virtues of faith (cross), hope (anchor) and love (heart).

Two gold hearts and a jet shoe

The next group above has two lovely hearts and a jet piece. Both the hearts are antique but the engraved heart set with a garnet cabochon is also a locket with a glazed back for a hair memento. The middle charm is an antique piece made of Whitby jet with a 9ct top. It is shaped like a female boot.

A fob, a bird and a locket

Two of the next collection are Georgian while the gold kookaburra charm is vintage. The glass locket contains a lock of hair tied with a small gold bow. The bloodstone fob has a gold frame on the top and sides comprised of a two headed snake.

A scarab, a heart, a fob and a nut

Of the final four pieces, one is an antique carnelian scarab. The third one is really charming and I have selected it for a close up below. It is the little late Georgian gold fob with a beautifully worked gold greyhound sitting on an engraved domed base. There is a banded agate set into the bottom of the fob, with initials.
