It’s time to indulge my love of snake jewellery as it has been 6 months since my last snake post. Let’s start with the stickpin at the top of the post. It is a French antique 14ct gold stick pin with the top being a gold snake coiled around a banded agate orb. It’s a good size, with the orb and snake measuring 1.7cms.
The opal snake brooch below is an unusual looking piece, probably early 20th century. The silver snake, which is set with small opals, forms one loop with the tail passing through the loop. Three mother of pearl ovals provide a nice contrast.
The antique French 18ct snake ring below is a classic shape, with the snake looping around to form the band, with the lightly scaled head sitting on top of the finger.
The final snake piece is another ring but this is vintage, with Egyptian hallmarks for 18ct gold. It is set with ruby eyes and the head and tail are set with small diamonds. Again, it is just a single loop with the head and tail sitting on the top of the finger.
